Cloth Cat Academy
Production Traineeship
In Association with Creative Wales and S4C
The Cloth Cat Academy Production Traineeship has now officially come to an end! It’s been such a pleasure to have our six talented trainees working here at our studio for the past eight weeks. We’d like to say a huge thank you to each of them for all of their hard work and dedication and we very much look forward to sharing the fantastic results of their efforts with you throughout this month! We’d also like to thank our Moho course tutor Dani Abram for her inspiring mentorship throughout the project, as well as each of our senior animators here at Cloth Cat who have generously shared their industry knowledge and skills with our six promising young animators.
We’d also like to express our gratitude to Creative Wales and to S4C for supporting the project as part of their commitment to develop training and skills in Wales. Our trainees have now taken the next big step in their careers, earning their very first production credits working on a short film that will be broadcast this Christmas on S4C!

Our Creative Producer Ben Cawthorne attended the TIGA Games Industry Awards in London this month with a cohort of Welsh studios, along with Creative Wales. The awards celebrate the work and achievements of large and small studios, service providers and educational institutions in a wide range of categories, including Game of the Year. Ben was there to catch up with industry colleagues and celebrated the two Welsh studio award wins of this year!
We'd also like to congratulate Tara Naz upon being nominated for the Studio Hero Award at GaMaYo! On 13th November, more than 500 game developers came together at WX in Wakefield to celebrate the awesome work and accomplishments of studios, standout individuals and charities at the Game Republic Awards 2025, which was adjudicated by Guardian games writer Keith Stuart. The Studio Hero Award is all about giving deserved recognition to the people who keep their studio running strong; especially the ones working hard behind-the-scenes. Congratulations Tara!

CePAS Luxembourg
We were commissioned by Ierace Dechmann + Partners to create a 15 sec 2D animation that helps to raise awareness about the well-being of young people. The Psychosocial and School Support Centre (CePAS) encourages and supports young people who feel isolated, withdrawn, demotivated or sad to overcome their academic, emotional and relational challenges. Together, we are stronger! Follow the link to watch the animation and to learn more about the project:

Cardiff Animation Nights
Cardiff Animation Nights marked its 11th birthday in lively fashion on Wednesday 26 November at The Underdog, delivering an evening that perfectly captured the spirit of the city’s vibrant animation community. The celebration brought together a wonderful mix of animated shorts, good company, and plenty of birthday cake! A standout highlight of the night was the appearance of special guest Cat Johnston, who arrived with handmade puppets from her brand-new short film Wickywock and the Jub Jub Berry. It was fantastic to see the quirky characters up close and to learn more about Cat's playful creative process. In between the screenings, everybody got the chance to make their own paper birthday hats, creating a real shared sense of celebration. We hope that Cardiff Animation Nights continues to be such a beloved fixture in the city's cultural calendar for many more years to come!
